Reverse Osmosis Seawater Desalination Plant
In September 1998, TSG completed a 54,000-gallon
per day seawater reverse osmosis plant for Necker Island,
British Virgin Islands. Project goals included:
- Replacing the inefficient 20,000 gpd unit
with a state-of-the-art treatment system.
- Revamping the utility area of the resort
to better handle hurricane force winds.
- Reducing load on the facility generators
by implementing energy recovery and soft starting technology.
- Providing post treatment to reduce corrosion
to island appliances.
The removal of the equipment, renovations
to the buildings, and installation of the new equipment
was precisely coordinated to maintain water production at
all times.
Other services provided by TSG to Necker include:
- Quarterly preventative maintenance since 1998.
- Replacement of potable and irrigation pumping systems.
- Design and installation of pool filtration system.
- Furnished and installed 5,000 gpd sequencing batch reactor wastewater treatment plant.
